PRESS: Cbank puts forward VTB 24 CEO as CEO of Otkritie FC Bank

MOSCOW, Aug 28 (PRIME) -- The central bank has suggested that Mikhail Zadornov, CEO of VTB Bank’s retail arm VTB 24, be appointed as CEO of Russia’s 6th largest bank Otkritie Financial Corporation (FC) Bank, and Zadornov is to decide next week, Kommersant business daily reported on Monday quoting sources close to the VTB Group and Otkritie FC Bank.

Zadornov is supposed to lead restoration of Otkritie’s financial condition as a turnaround manager.

An official representative of VTB said that Zadornov would not leave the VTB Group. “Moreover, the supervisory board of VTB is to meet on Monday and discuss the question of appointing him as a member of the bank’s management board,” the representative said.

Currently, VTB is merging with VTB 24, and Zadornov is to become VTB’s first deputy CEO after the merger.

Otkritie FC Bank, Zadornov and the central bank declined to comment.
